FAITH IN TIMES OF TRIALS

FAITH IN TIMES OF TRIALS

(Psalm 27:1-14)

INTRODUCTION

David, the psalmist had a lot of trials, problems and troubles during his sojourn on earth. There was a time he was prevented or hindered from appearing in the temple and also separated from having a fellowship with his family members. In the midst of his trials, his faith was in the Lord as the only one that can deliver from the claws of the devil. He had unshakeable and undiluted faith in the Lord. Faith in the Lord makes us to stand always during the times of trials.

1. BOLDNESS IN THE LORD (Psalm 27:1-3; Psalm 3:1-6; Psalm 118:6-14; Luke 12:4-7)
The soul that has assurance of salvation in the Lord can boldly walk in the light even though enemies may surround him. Fear vanishes as boldness enters. One needs not to fear the power of darkness because the power of God is higher and powerful than those fetish and lifeless powers.
When a problem surfaces, your faith and boldness in the Lord will drive away your storms to asylum because your weapons of warfare rests on the power of the Lord.

2. COMMUNICATION WITH THE LORD (  Psalm 27:4-6; Psalm 22:25; Psalm 84:10-12; Luke 10:38-42; Luke 24:52; Acts 2:42-46; Hebrews 10:23-25).
“One thing have I desired of the Lord …” A man of singular pursuit, one love, one desire, one thought, one goal and longing to serve the Lord rightly was King David during his time. The ultimate longing, desire of the king is that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life”.
Like David, we should have intimate relationship with the Lord triune so that communication loophole will be totally eradicated. He talks about God’s ‘pavilion’. This is a place of perfect and complete security. No devil ever touches whoever enters into this place that Bible talks about. He (David) also emphasizes the lifting up of the heads of the righteous before the Lord (Verse 5). See also (Psalm 3:3; Genesis 40:13-14, 21-23; II Kings 25:27-30; Jeremiah 52:31-34).

3. LIFE OF THE GODLY (Psalm 27:7-12; Psalm 28:2; Psalm 127:1-3; Psalm 86:25).

Prayer is a powerful weapon of warfare in the life of a christian that is on the battle field. David, being a prayer warrior knew how he handles prayers during his time. God did not hide Hs face from him at all. He does the same thing today when your trust is in Him.

4. BOLDNESS OF THE GODLY (Psalm 27:13-14; Psalm 123:1-3; Romans 8:25)

Lack of faith brings impatience. Boldness makes believer to be strong in the Lord in the face of all odds. A believer should have unshakable faith in the Lord he or she serves. Verse 3 says: “I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”. (Psalm 23:6; Psalm 21:3; Psalm 25:7).
God has many things in stock for those that have faith in Him. He had never and will never disappoint those whose faith hangs on Him. We can lean on Him. Whatever He says, He means it and will surely bring it to pass in our lives. He hears and also answers prayers. Lean on His beautiful promises because He carries us on His arm all the time.

CONCLUSION

The eyes of the Lord are not closed when you are passing through your own Armageddon (challenges). He will not allow the water of life to carry you away from Him. Trust in Him and wait patiently to see what He will do in your life.

“If ye know all these things, happy (blessed) are ye if ye do them”
– John 13:17.
